Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is Square Enix's vision of the "ultimate 2D remasters" of the first 6 Final Fantasy games. It is a return to sprite artwork like was used in the original releases of the games as well as removing easter eggs, extra dungeons, and other features that were introduced in other remasters and re-releases of the games. Square Enix bought the game's original artist Kazuko Shibuya to remaster the original pixel art of the game and they also brought on Nobuo Uematsu to supervise the remastering of the original musical score. Some adjustments for quality of life, as well as bug fixes, are included in the games but Square Enix tried to be as faithful as possible to the original experience of the games.
A special 35th-anniversary collectors edition was released as well which included a 2-disc picture vinyl record set, a code to download the MP3s of the music from the records, a special anniversary box, pixel artbook, 8 "pixel" figurines of the core classes, a special lenticular outer sleeve, as well as the physical game for either the Sony PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch.
