Final Fantasy Unlimited first started coming out in Japan on October 2, 2001 and in America on October 28, 2003 with the final DVD coming out in Japan on March 26, 2002 and in America on July 6, 2004. Final Fantasy Unlimited is the second time an Anime has been made based on the Final Fantasy games. FFU follows 2 young twins Ai and Yu while they search for there parents in a strange world called Wonderland. At first it was kind of hard for me to get into the series, it started out kind of boring and slow but after the first few episodes the anime got a lot better (manly since all the main characters are now in it). In the first episode they meet up with a man, who the children call Kaze, who is kind of a Summoner. I had fun trying to guess what summon he was using by the description of it he gave when summoning. I also really enjoyed watching the Chocobo come in and kick some butt, and on occasion grabbing Ai's hair for a snack. The biggest down fall of this series is the major repetitiveness of the episodes, it is basically the kids get in to some trouble they can not come and Kaze comes to there rescue with one of his summons. Every now and then there is a shock as sometimes the first summon does not defeat the enemy, but in the end the summon wins. I really liked the ending to the series which had a great twist that I did not expect, I will not give it away so as not to spoil it. I do recommend picking up this series, which is 7 DVDs in total, since it does become a very good show.
