Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was first release in Japan on September 10, 2005 on DVD and UMD with a limited edition box set called "Advent Pieces". Although it has not been release in America yet, it's current release date is set at January 10. Since I am such a huge fan of the series I bought the Advent Pieces box set, and that is what this review is based off of. Any fan of the Final Fantasy VII game will love this movie, the graphics are great (almost photo-realistic), the story is excellent, and the fight sense are some of the best I have seen in any game based movie out there; They are both high impact and extremely fast. It is really hard for me to find things about this movie on it's bad side. I can say that the DVD does seam to be lacking in a few of the normal features found on movie DVDs like text less openings/endings and such, but maybe that is because I have seen the Japanese DVD and things like that are not done normally on Japanese DVDs. But on the other hand the bonus features it does come with more then make up for this. All in all this is the best Final Fantasy Movie/Anime Square-Enix has ever produced and I find it hard to believe that any Final Fantasy VII fan, or any Final Fantasy fan for that matter, will be disappointed in this.
