Final Fantasy VII was undoubtedly the most popular Final Fantasy game in the entire series. Final Fantasy VII was also the first game to hint at a larger story then what you where just playing with references to events that do not happen in game, people that are not found, and other things. Square-Enix has been nice enough to us to fill in the rest of the story that is just hinted at and they call it the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII".
