Final Fantasy XIV 1.22a releaseing on May 9, 2012

On May 9, 2012 starting at 2:00PM PDT Final Fantasy XIV will go offline for the application of the 1.22a patch. This patch will address bugs from 1.22 and unlock some new items that had to be held back. The update will start at 2PM PDT and is expected to last until 5PM PDT.

Final Fantasy XIV Legacy and Welcome Back Campaigns

Two special campaigns for FFXIV have been announced in preparation for version 2.0 of the game, the Legacy campaign and the Welcome Back campaign. The Legacy campaign will be for all players where subscribed to FFXIV for 90 or more cumulative days between January 6, 2012 and whenever the 2.0 beta releases. Those users will get a permanent fee discount down to $9.99 per month, have their name listed in the credits if they want, and an exclusive in-game Chcoobo mount. The Welcome Back campaign is not as cool though, if you currently have an inactive account you will be able to play the game for free from May 9 to May 20.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy release date and pre-order bonus announced

Square Enix has announced that Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy will be released for the Nintendo 3DS here in North America on July 3rd, if you pre-order now you will also get a gripped 3DS stylus along with a sticker sheet containing 17 different characters from the game to personalize your special stylus.

New FF Theatrhythm DLC

Square Enix released the track list for the upcoming April 28th DLC release for Final Fantasy Theatrhythm. The songs are "Underwater Temple" from FFI, "Battle I" from FFV, "Movement In Green" from FFX, and "Battle to the Death" from FFXII and each song will cost only 150yen.

Things are happening with Final Fantasy XIV

There are a few announcements for FFXIV today with the first being scheduled maintenance tomorrow from 2PM till 4PM PDT to deploy some hot fixes for the recently released 1.21a patch no details were given on what those hot fixes are. An announcement on the upcoming 1.22 patch was also made to talk about some adjustments to the Market Area and the changing of the entrance to Ul'dah's Inn will be moved to fix the instability on it, unfortunately that inn will remain offline until the patch is released.

New Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC

Tomorrow Square Enix will be release some new downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2 on both the PlayStation Network and X-Box Live. The new content includes costumes, Noel's Assasin's Creed at $2.99(PSN)/240MSP(X-Box) and Serah's Exposure and Defense costume wich is free on both networks, and two new battles in the colisuem, Gilgamesh at $3.99(PSN)/320MSP(X-Box) and PuPu at $1.99(PSN)/160MSP(X-Box).

More FFXIII-2 DLC, FFXIV Version 1.21 released

Square Enix officially announced even more downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2 today. The first DLC add PSICOM Officer Jihl Nabaat as a coliseum opponent and will be released on March 13 at the cost of 240 MS Points on the X-Box and $2.99 on the PS3. A new DLC episode called “Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess” that reveals the battle between Lightning and Caius, which was not shown in the main game, is planned for mid-may and no price is set yet. One DLC that is now out and cheep at just 80 MS Points and $0.99 on PS3 is new weapons for both Noel and Serah. The new weapons are Noel’s Muramasa and Catastrophe Blades and Serah’s Seraphic Wing.
Also today was the release of Final Fantasy XIV’s version 1.21 patch. The patch adds new items, recipes and the much wanted Jobs. For full details read over the patch notes.

Final Fantasy Theatrhythm DLC announced

Final Fantasy Theatrhythm has gotten an offical anouncment form Square Enix that it will be getting 4 new soungs via Downloadable content. The new songs are Matoya no Dokutsu from Final Fantasy, Battle 1 from Final Fantasy III, Arukakiiruti Dai Hirahara from Final Fantasy XIII, and Warera Kitareri from Final Fantasy Type-0. There is still no word yet on if or when Theatrhythm will be coming state side.

3 New FFXIII-2 Downloadable Content

Square Enix has released some new DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 on both the X-Box and PS3 in the US and Europe (no word yet if it is available in Japan too but I would bet so). The DLC is the Beachwaear outfit for Serah, the Spacetime Guardian outfit for Noel, and single download called Sazh: Heads or Tails which includes both a new episode featuring Sazh and unlocks some new casio content. The US PSN price of the downloads are $2.99 for the outfits and $4.99 for the Sazh pack
